IT Support Officer
Purpose of Position
This position is the IT Technology Officer for SRCA. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
Why does the job exist?
IT Technology Officer is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all IT functions for the agency. Providing technical guidance and highly specialized knowledge and expertise to high level administrative management. This position requires a high level of innovation and technical integration in the areas of business administration, records and archival management, website development and hosting, and all other agency services provided to the State of New Mexico and the general public.
How does it get done?
In addition to providing day-to-day support for the agency’s mission-critical applications, this position is responsible for managing the division, assigning and directing the work of the other two staff, developing and administering the IT budget, generating the annual IT Plan, producing Professional Services contracts, updating and modifying the agency websites, and managing the backup and disaster recovery of a large number of records management and digital archives.

All SRCA divisions. (Administrative Services, State Archives, Records Management, Office of the State Historian, Administrative Law Division)
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
Have Supervisory skills
Knowledge of different computer systems and business applications
Knowledge and experience producing the NM DoIT annual IT Plan
Knowledge and experience creating IT professional services contracts using the NM DoIT template documentation
Knowledge and experience using Electronic Records Management Systems
Knowledge and experience using Archival Electronic Records Management Systems
Knowledge and experience with file backup and disaster recovery techniques and software for digital assets
Ability to identify IT infrastructure requirements in advance of funding availability and communicate these needs to management
Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
Ability to make modifications to the agency websites and interface with the hosting provider
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree four (4) years of experience in at least two of the following areas: Applications Development, IT Architecture, Data Management, Network Administration, Project Management, IT Security/Compliance, or Systems Administration. Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Some travel may be required. Occasionally work extra hours, on weekends and holidays.
